Day 283 of 365
Wisdom's Foundation
Proverbs 1:7
Proverbs 1:7
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Insight
Knowledge starts with fearing the Lord. Not terror but reverent awe. When you fear God, you take Him seriously. You honor His Word. You respect His authority. Without this foundation, knowledge lacks wisdom. You can accumulate facts but miss understanding. Fools despise wisdom not because they're unintelligent but because they reject God. Fear of the Lord is where knowledge begins. Wisdom flows from it. Start with reverence. Everything else follows.
Reflection
Do you fear the Lord in the biblical sense? How does proper fear of God affect your pursuit of wisdom?
