Day 82 of 365
The Ministry of Listening
Proverbs 18:13
Proverbs 18:13
“To answer before listening—that is folly and shame.”
Insight
In a world full of talkers, listening is rare and valuable. Most people don't need your advice; they need your attention. True listening requires humility (admitting you don't know everything), patience (not interrupting), and love (caring about their experience). When you truly listen, you're ministering - showing people they matter, they're seen, and they're heard. Listen more. Talk less.
Reflection
In your recent conversations, have you listened more than you talked? What would change if your goal was to understand rather than to respond?
