Day 181 of 365

The Fear of Man

Proverbs 29:25

Proverbs 29:25

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”

Insight

The fear of man is a trap. When you care more about what people think than what God thinks, you're ensnared. You make decisions to please others, avoid conflict, or maintain image—all at the cost of obedience. The cure is trusting God more than fearing people. He keeps you safe. People's opinions change. God's truth doesn't. People can't give or take your identity. God already has. Break free from the snare. Fear God alone.

Reflection

What decision are you avoiding or making based on fear of what others will think? How would trusting God change that decision?
