Day 181 of 365

Abiding in Christ

John 15:4

John 15:4

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

Reflection

Fruitfulness flows from abiding. You can't produce spiritual fruit through effort - only through connection. Branches don't strain to produce fruit; they simply stay attached to the vine and fruit grows naturally. Your job is to abide - stay connected to Jesus through prayer, worship, Scripture, and obedience. His job is to produce fruit. Stop striving to be more patient, loving, or joyful. Start abiding. Stay connected. Fruit will follow. Abiding is your only responsibility. Fruitfulness is His guarantee.
