Day 182 of 365

Speaking Life

Ephesians 4:29

Ephesians 4:29

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Reflection

Your words either build up or tear down. There's no neutral. Unwholesome talk - gossip, complaining, criticism, coarse joking - tears down. But words that build up benefit everyone who hears. Before you speak, ask: Is this helpful? Does this build up? Will this benefit the listener? If not, stay silent. Your words have power. Use them to encourage, affirm, bless, and build. Let everything you say today benefit those who hear.
