Receiving Rebuke
Proverbs 15:31-32
Proverbs 15:31-32
“Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise. Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.”
Insight
Wise people love correction because they value growth over ego. Fools reject correction because they value ego over growth. When someone lovingly confronts you, that's a gift. They care enough to risk your rejection to help you grow. Don't waste that gift by getting defensive. Listen. Evaluate honestly. Adjust where needed. Those who heed correction gain understanding and avoid repeated mistakes.
Reflection
When was the last time someone corrected you? How did you respond - defensively or humbly? What did you learn from that correction?
