Day 109 of 365

Radical Love

Romans 12:20-21

Romans 12:20-21

“On the contrary: 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.' Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Insight

Jesus' command to love enemies is radical. Paul says actively bless them - feed them when hungry, give them drink when thirsty. This isn't natural; it's supernatural. When you respond to evil with good, you're not being weak - you're overcoming evil. You're breaking the cycle of retaliation. You're demonstrating a love that confounds the world. This is how Christians are meant to live.

Reflection

Who treats you as an enemy? What's one practical way you can bless them this week instead of avoiding or resenting them?
