Day 110 of 365

Desperate for God

Psalm 42:1-2

Psalm 42:1-2

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”

Insight

The psalmist describes desperate longing for God - like a deer panting for water in a drought. How desperate are you for God? Not for His blessings, but for Him. Not for what He gives, but for who He is. Jesus withdrew to solitary places because He craved time with the Father. When was the last time your soul panted for God? Cultivate holy desperation. Seek Him not out of duty, but out of desire.

Reflection

When you're stressed, where do you run first - your phone, food, people, or God? What would change if you ran to God first with the same desperation the deer runs to water?
