Day 108 of 365

True Riches

Luke 12:15

Luke 12:15

“Then he said to them, 'Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.'”

Insight

Western culture equates success with possessions. Bigger house. Nicer car. More stuff. But Jesus warns that life doesn't consist in abundance of possessions. You can have everything and still be empty. You can be rich and poor simultaneously. True wealth is relationships, character, purpose, and knowing God. Don't trade eternal riches for temporal possessions. Be on guard against greed in all its forms.

Reflection

If you lost all your possessions tomorrow, what would you still have? Are you investing more in what you can lose or what lasts forever?
