Day 47 of 365
The Gift of Difficult People
Matthew 5:44
Matthew 5:44
“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
Reflection
That difficult person in your life? God put them there. Not to torment you, but to transform you. They're sandpaper smoothing your rough edges. They expose areas where you need to grow in patience, forgiveness, love, and grace. Easy people don't develop character; difficult people do. Jesus loved His enemies. Can you love yours? Not with warm feelings, but with a choice to bless them instead of curse them, pray for them instead of gossip about them, show kindness instead of revenge. This is supernatural love - impossible without God's help. But when you love difficult people, you become like Jesus. You break the cycle of retaliation. You demonstrate a love that confounds the world. Today, pray for that difficult person. Ask God to bless them. It will change you more than it changes them.
