Day 46 of 365
Investing in Eternity
Matthew 6:19-20
Matthew 6:19-20
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.”
Reflection
Everything on earth is temporary. Your car will rust. Your house will decay. Your bank account won't transfer to eternity. Only three things last forever: God, His Word, and people. That's it. So the question is: what are you investing in? Are you building an earthly kingdom or God's kingdom? Are you living for now or forever? This doesn't mean you can't enjoy earthly blessings - God gives us richly all things to enjoy. But it does mean holding them loosely and prioritizing eternal investments: leading people to Christ, discipling believers, giving generously, serving faithfully. One day you'll stand before God. What will matter then? Not your résumé, but your faithfulness. Not your possessions, but your obedience. Not what you accumulated, but what you gave away. Today, invest in something that will outlast you.
