Day 48 of 365

Overcoming Fear with Faith

2 Timothy 1:7

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Reflection

Fear isn't from God. That anxious, panicked, 'what if' thinking? Not from Him. God gives power (courage to act), love (confidence in His care), and a sound mind (clear, rational thinking). Fear is a spirit - and you have authority over it. When fear knocks, let faith answer. Don't deny the fear; acknowledge it, then choose faith anyway. 'I'm afraid, but I trust God.' 'This is scary, but God is with me.' 'I don't know the outcome, but I know who holds the future.' Fear paralyzes. Faith mobilizes. Fear says 'what if it goes wrong?' Faith says 'what if it goes right?' Today, what are you afraid of? Name it. Now counter it with truth. Replace fear with a promise from God's Word. Speak it out loud. Fear loses power when you confront it with faith.
