Day 186 of 365
Being Salt and Light
Matthew 5:13
Matthew 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”
Reflection
Salt preserves and flavors. Light dispels darkness. You're both. Your presence should preserve moral decay and add flavor to bland lives. Your light should illuminate dark places. But what happens when salt loses saltiness? It's worthless. What happens when light dims? Darkness prevails. Don't lose your distinctiveness. Don't hide your light. The world needs salty, bright Christians who aren't afraid to be different. Be salt. Be light. Make a difference.
