Day 186 of 365

Eternal Perspective

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Insight

Your current troubles are light and momentary compared to eternal glory. This doesn't minimize your pain—it puts it in perspective. What feels crushing now is producing eternal weight of glory. How? By developing character, deepening faith, and drawing you closer to God. Fix your eyes on the unseen—heaven, eternity, God's promises—because what's temporary will pass, but what's eternal lasts forever. Don't get so consumed with the temporary that you lose sight of the eternal.

Reflection

What temporary trouble is consuming your attention? How would an eternal perspective change how you respond to it?
