Day 151 of 365
The Ministry of Presence
Job 2:13
Job 2:13
“Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was.”
Insight
Sometimes the greatest ministry isn't saying the right thing—it's simply showing up. Job's friends got this right initially: they sat in silence for seven days. Before they opened their mouths with misguided theology, their presence spoke volumes. Being with someone in pain, without trying to fix or explain it, is a profound act of love. Your presence says: 'You're not alone. I'm here.' That's often more healing than any words.
Reflection
Who in your life needs your presence more than your advice right now? How can you minister through simply being there?
