Day 177 of 365
The Weight of Words
Matthew 12:36-37
Matthew 12:36-37
“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Insight
Your words matter more than you think. Every careless word, every thoughtless comment, every empty promise—you'll give an account. This should make you careful with your speech. Words reveal the heart. They can heal or hurt, build or destroy, give life or death. You'll be judged by your words because they expose what's inside. Speak with intention. Say what matters. Cut out the careless chatter. Your words have eternal weight.
Reflection
What careless or empty words have you spoken recently that you'll have to give account for? How will you guard your speech going forward?
