Day 1 of 365
The Promise of God's Peace
John 14:27
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Insight
Jesus offers a peace that's fundamentally different from what the world offers. Worldly peace depends on circumstances - having enough money, health, or success. But Christ's peace is a settled confidence in God's sovereign control, regardless of external conditions.
Reflection
What situations in your life are currently disturbing your peace? How might Jesus' promise of 'not as the world gives' change your perspective on finding peace?
