Day 174 of 365

The Danger of Prayerlessness

1 Samuel 12:23

1 Samuel 12:23

“As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.”

Insight

Prayerlessness is sin. Samuel understood this. When you fail to pray for someone, you're sinning against God. Why? Because prayer is the means God ordained to accomplish His will. When you don't pray, you're essentially saying, 'God, I don't think You need to be involved here.' It's practical atheism. If you love someone, pray for them. If you lead someone, pray for them. Prayerlessness isn't just neglect—it's sin.

Reflection

Who have you committed to pray for but haven't? How is prayerlessness a sin, and what will you do about it today?
