Day 238 of 365
Tested and Refined
1 Peter 1:6-7
1 Peter 1:6-7
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
Insight
Trials prove your faith genuine. They're not signs of God's absence but tools of His refinement. Your faith is more valuable than gold, and like gold, it must be refined by fire. The process is temporarily painful but eternally valuable. When Christ returns, your proven faith will result in praise and glory. Rejoice even now, knowing the trial is producing something precious. Your faith is being refined.
Reflection
How is your current trial refining your faith? Can you rejoice in the trial, knowing what it's producing?
