“Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.”
Insight
Elijah was human like you, yet his prayers stopped rain and released it. What made his prayers effective? Earnestness and righteousness. He prayed earnestly—passionately, persistently, believingly. And he was righteous through faith. Your prayers have the same potential. You're righteous through Christ. Pray earnestly. Expect results. Your prayers are powerful and effective because of whose righteousness you stand in.
