Day 275 of 365

Loving Discipline

Proverbs 3:11-12

Proverbs 3:11-12

“My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.”

Insight

Discipline is proof of sonship, not punishment for failure. God disciplines those He loves. Like a good father who corrects a child he delights in, God corrects you. Don't despise His discipline or resent His rebuke. It's uncomfortable but necessary. It's producing character, holiness, and maturity. Discipline means you belong. It means He's invested in your growth. Receive correction with humility. Trust that His discipline flows from delight, not disappointment.

Reflection

What area of your life is God currently disciplining? How can you respond with humility instead of resentment?
