Day 258 of 365
Life-Giving Speech
Ephesians 4:29
Ephesians 4:29
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Insight
Your words should build up, not tear down. Unwholesome talk—gossip, criticism, crude jokes, harsh words—destroys. Wholesome talk edifies. Before speaking, ask: Is this helpful? Does it build up? Does it benefit the hearer? If not, don't say it. Your words have power. Use them to build, encourage, and bless. Let everything you say benefit those who listen. Speak life.
Reflection
Do your words typically build up or tear down? How can you be more intentional about speaking life-giving words?
