Day 252 of 365

Fragile Vessels

2 Corinthians 4:8-9

2 Corinthians 4:8-9

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

Insight

You're a fragile vessel, but you're not destroyed. Hard pressed but not crushed. Perplexed but not in despair. Persecuted but not abandoned. Struck down but not destroyed. This is the paradox of Christian suffering. You feel the pressure, but you're not broken. Why? Because God's power sustains you. The treasure in your clay jar keeps you from destruction. You're fragile but not finished. Weak but not wrecked. God holds you together.

Reflection

What pressure are you feeling that threatens to crush you? How is God sustaining you so you're not destroyed?
