Day 37 of 365

Forgiveness Breaks Chains

Ephesians 4:31-32

Ephesians 4:31-32

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Insight

Unforgiveness is like swallowing poison and expecting the other person to die. It chains you to the past and gives the offender ongoing power over your emotional and spiritual well-being. But forgiveness breaks those chains. It's not about them; it's about your freedom. When you forgive as Christ forgave you - completely, sacrificially, immediately - you're released from bitterness's prison.

Reflection

Who do you need to forgive? What would it look like to release them today, not because they deserve it, but because you need freedom?
