Day 37 of 365
The Cost of Unforgiveness
Matthew 6:14-15
Matthew 6:14-15
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Reflection
Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. It doesn't hurt them - it destroys you. Bitterness, resentment, and grudges imprison your heart and limit your relationship with God. Notice Jesus connects your forgiveness from God to your forgiveness of others. Why? Because unforgiveness reveals a hard heart that hasn't fully grasped God's grace. You've been forgiven an unpayable debt - how can you withhold forgiveness from others? Forgiving doesn't mean what they did was okay. It means you're releasing them to God and freeing yourself from bitterness. It's a choice, not a feeling. Today, who do you need to forgive? Release them. Not for their sake, but for yours. Freedom awaits.
