Day 99 of 365
Balancing Truth and Love
Proverbs 27:6
Proverbs 27:6
“Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.”
Insight
True friends speak truth even when it hurts. Enemies tell you what you want to hear. Truth without love is harsh. Love without truth is weak. But truth spoken in love - motivated by someone's best interest, delivered with grace and compassion - is transformative. It wounds temporarily but heals permanently. Are you willing to be that kind of friend? Are you willing to receive that kind of friendship?
Reflection
Who in your life loves you enough to speak hard truths? Are you open to receiving correction from them? Who needs you to speak truth to them in love?
