Day 266 of 365

Alive to God

Romans 6:11

“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”

Insight

Count yourself dead to sin and alive to God. This is your new identity. Sin has no claim on you. You died to it. But you're alive to God. Responsive. Receptive. Obedient. This isn't wishful thinking; it's truth. Believe it. Act on it. When temptation comes, remember: you're dead to that. You're alive to God now. Live from your new identity. Dead to sin. Alive to God.

Reflection

Are you living like someone dead to sin and alive to God? How does this identity change your response to temptation?
