Day 240 of 365

The Listening Ear

Proverbs 18:13

Proverbs 18:13

“To answer before listening—that is folly and shame.”

Reflection

Listen before speaking. It sounds simple, but it's rare. We rush to answer, defend, and correct before fully listening. This is folly. Wisdom listens first, then responds. Quick answers often miss the real issue. Slow listening understands the heart. In relationships, ministry, and decision-making, develop the discipline of listening. God gave you two ears and one mouth - use them proportionally. Listen more. Speak less. Understand deeply.
